Where is your gym located?

I don’t exercise but my physician says that I am healthy. Why do I need personal training?

A. Our heart, lungs, joints, bones and muscles degenerate and lose functionality with disuse, especially after our mid-twenties. This can lead to an increased risk for cardiovascular disease, America’s #1 killer. Enjoying a long-lasting, healthy, energetic life with few limitations begins with a well-programmed exercise routine and proper diet. CoreFit health professionals are qualified and eager to get you on track with both!

I don’t have any cardio equipment at home, so how can you train my cardiovascular system?

A. Treadmills and elliptical machines are excellent tools for cardiovascular training but they are far from the only means! Cardiovascular training is effectively achieved through repetitive movements of large muscles. Your Fitness Specialist will choose the methods necessary to give you the proper workout using your body weight with or without added resistance from wrist weights and ankle weights. More importantly, your trainer will monitor your heart rate and fatigue, adjusting your program accordingly.

How can I pay?

A. CoreFit offers two methods of payment: Our Standard method is the easiest we automatically charge your bank account or credit card every 28 days until you decide to cancel. This is our simplest and most convenient billing method. You can also enjoy considerable savings when you purchase our 48-Session Commitment Package. Cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover and PayPal are all gladly accepted forms of payment, payable in person, online or over the phone.

What are your hours?

A.CoreFit Fitness Specialists offer training between 5am and 10pm seven days a week. Whether you are an early bird or a night owl, our trainers are available and eager to improve your health and to get you into shape!

How can we get it all done in only 55 minutes?

A. CoreFit trainers often emphasize multi-tasking workouts involving hybrid exercises that train various muscles simultaneously. Most clients’ workouts are planned to train the cardiovascular system and musculoskeletal system simultaneously. Even the active rest periods between endurance exercises are utilized for increased effectiveness. Our Fitness Specialists are trained to recognize their clients’ needs and design their programs accordingly.

How many times per week should I work out?

A.Clinical recommendations for preventive health vary based on a person’s medical history, but general frequency ideals for overall healthy adults are as follows:
  • Cardiovascular conditioning is recommended at least five days per week for twenty or more minutes (more for fat reduction)
  • Musculoskeletal conditioning for the muscles, bones, and joints should take place at least twice per week for each major muscle group
  • Flexibility conditioning is appropriate nearly every day to keep circulation, joint mobility, and muscular elasticity optimal throughout the aging process
Your trainer will determine the best use of your session time and together, you will establish a healthy compromise for your needs.

Will I have the same trainer at every session?

A.What do you prefer? While many clients prefer to be trained by the same trainer at every session, others find it enjoyable to work with multiple staff members. CoreFit can accommodate either option.

Will I be able to choose whether I train with a man or a woman?

A.Although both male and female trainers are equally educated in working with both genders, we will accommodate your preferences regarding your trainer’s gender, age, and even personality type. We will do our best to balance your preferred training schedule with your preferences. Remember, you will meet your trainer for a complimentary consultation and fitness evaluation before you spend any money.

How can I burn fat in specific areas of my body?

A.The truth is that spot reduction, the concept of burning more fat in a particular “target area” of the body, does not exist. Your body determines where fat is stored and where it is subsequently reduced through caloric expenditure. This shouldn’t discourage you! Your CoreFit Fitness Specialist will formulate a plan to develop muscle tone, improve unsightly areas, and bring your body fat percentage to a healthy level. Together, you will significantly improve your health and your body!

What personal training certifications do CoreFit trainers hold?

A.All CoreFit Fitness Specialists hold at least one of the NCCA-accredited certificates: NFPT, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, NASM, and NCSF with many holding multiple designations.

How will we gauge my progress?

A.Our Fitness Specialists are committed to your progress! He or she will periodically assess your body fat, flexibility, risk for cardiovascular disease, posture, strength, resting & exercising heart rates, and aerobic capacity through a series of tests and will be glad to assess any other factors that might be of interest to you (ie: waist and hip measurements or grip strength).

I know a personal trainer can help me look better, but how can a program with CoreFit improve my health?

A.Exercise in any form can be potentially dangerous. While it is completely necessary for proper health, it needs to be specifically designed according to the individual’s medical history and personal needs. Exercise in itself, is not the complete answer; fitness involves the use of appropriate frequency, intensity, duration, and type. To keep your exercises safe and effective, a professional who has thorough knowledge of the human body and understands your limitations as well as your capacity for exercise is the answer.

I eat right and I go for walks. Isn’t that good enough to maintain my health?

A.“Eating right” can mean different things to different people. For a precise, aggressive, results-driven nutrition plan, we strongly recommend our CoreFit meal plan, which employs a personalized quantity of macronutrients at appropriate intervals. As for regular walking, this is not sufficient for total-body exercise. Strengthening bones and improving joint integrity, muscle health and balance require resistance training, and not all benefits of cardiovascular conditioning are achieved at the low-intensity of walking. Remember, your wellness plan involves more than your current health status; it greatly affects how you age and your risk of preventable medical problems.

What can a personal trainer do besides give me that extra push?

A. Motivation is just the beginning! More than being your private cheerleader, it is the science behind the movements and the energy systems of the body that we use as a basis for your fitness strategy. A detailed exercise regimen can only be effective for a very short period of time before the body requires a new approach. This is the reason for so many “plateaus” in people’s training, which impede progress. At CoreFit, our concern is the perfect exercise cocktail that will both improve your health and obtain your personal fitness goals! We will also ensure that your exercises are performed safely, to your full range of motion and with appropriate intensity for your own training capacity. CoreFit takes the guesswork out of your workouts!

How can home training help me if I don’t have a home gym?

A. With our innovative and creative programs, you don’t need a home gym! Our fitness professionals specifically design your training sessions using only their travel equipment. You’ll use the same form that you’d use with machines at a gym, but with a better fit for your body.

What kinds of equipment will my trainer use?

A. Our trainers will make the decisions necessary to personalize your session needs. Some commonly used tools are stability balls, wrist weights, ankle weights, dumbbells, resistance bands, ab rollers, and various balance equipment. All of these will be manipulated in various ways to keep your training simple but extremely effective.

What makes CoreFit different from other home trainers?

A. Our creative, innovative and fun approach to fitness training is the difference. The combination of Mind, Body and Nutrition training can have an overall effect on your health by: Significantly decreasing the risk for cardiovascular disease and premature death Improving blood pressure Lowering “bad” (LDL) cholesterol while increasing “good” (HDL) cholesterol Improving posture, balance, and spine health Decreasing blood triglycerides Increasing flexibility Reducing risk for (and symptoms of) arthritis Lowering your risk for developing cancer and metabolic diseases such as Type II diabetes Preventing joint, bone, or muscular injury Improving glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity Retaining active daily living as you age Reducing the risk of osteoporosis and bone disease Improving both long and short-term memory Reducing depression and anxiety Improving self-esteem
